Part-Time Lab Analyst

POSTED: March 25, 2025
BUSINESS: CH4 Global
POSITION TYPE: Part-time (20 hrs/week)
START DATE: Immediate Availability

CH4 Global is on an urgent mission to impact climate change at scale with urgency.

Climate change is simply the greatest threat facing mankind today. Over 20 years methane is over 80 times more potent than CO2 at warming the atmosphere. So, methane emissions have an outsized impact on global warming AND reducing methane emissions can have an outsized impact on helping us solve this crisis. This was emphasized in the recent report issued by The Climate & Clean Air Coalition that stated “Our best shot to slow climate change. Cut methane”. Cows burp methane. Today the 1.5 billion cows on the planet produce 150 million tonnes of methane per year which is the largest single source of methane globally. At 12.9 billion (or Gt) CO2-e per year – that’s more GHG output than from the US, the EU and India combined.
At CH4 we are on an urgent mission to impact climate change by creating an aquaculture ecosystem for an amazing seaweed called Asparagopsis. Asparagopsis has almost 10 years of published peer-reviewed scientific proof on its ability to interact with the cow's digestive processes to inhibit methane production. Adding less than 0.5% of this natural feed additive can reduce the methane emissions in cattle up to 90%.
Importantly, CH4 is in position to be market-ready and scalable. Our initial efforts are in Australia and New Zealand – the native home of Asparagopsis. We do all this because: Who wouldn’t want to be a part in enabling the world to address climate change, so we can create a better world for the generations to come. Come join us and help make a difference for future of our planet.
