Michele Arthur

Michele Arthur serves as Senior Transactional Paralegal for the Office of Technology Commercialization. Michele drafts, negotiates and facilitates execution of a broad range of agreements on behalf of Purdue Research Foundation. She works closely with Transactional Counsel and the business development team to understand deal goals and support those efforts. Michele brings more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience to the position. Prior to joining OTC, she worked with Purdue’s General Counsel to facilitate university-wide legal strategic initiatives. She joined Purdue in 2012 as assistant director for equity in hiring, where she audited hiring practices, served as interim disability coordinator, and investigated harassment and discrimination claims under Title VII and Title IX. Prior to joining Purdue, Michele spent her career as a paralegal with a litigation focus in railroad and higher education law.

• What is one invention that you just couldn’t live without? Definitely electricity.
• f you were selected to be a contestant on a game show that requires you to taste cuisines from around the world and name the cuisine’s native country, how would you prepare for it?  Preferably, I would travel around the world. Realistically, watch a lot episodes of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. He always seems to find the local cuisine.
• What time period do you think would be the most fun to live in and why? The 1950’s. The country was full of life and potential.
• How would you explain to a child who has just mastered his/her multiplication tables that doubling a temperature of "zero degrees" does not equal zero? What?
