Application Developer/Analyst

Essential Functions

  • Work as part of a technical team to configure and implement a CRM solution supporting the University Development Office, facilitating continuous improvement post-implementation.
  • Design, develop, test, implement and maintain new software applications.
  • Analyze, modify, and maintain existing software applications.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify technology requirements to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Provide training and ongoing support, including monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
  • Write functional / technical specifications and estimate work effort.
  • Write documentation of technical design and code.
  • Develop and execute application test plans and scripts, collaborating with technical staff, end users, and vendors to identify and specify requirements for technical solutions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Liaison with other University organizations (IT@P, PRF IT, PAA, Athletics, others as needed) to facilitate design and interfaces for advancement information systems.
  • Manage system development activities to compliment vendor software; facilitate planning and testing to ensure timely system upgrades occur; stay current with vendor software releases.
  • Maintain data integrity within University Advancement information systems.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, demonstrated capacity for teamwork, creativity, and initiative necessary.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis and design methodologies, programming languages and ad-hoc reporting languages desired.
  • Ability to use tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion.
  • Motivated, adaptable team player with the ability to work well with others in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to foster professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Results-focused. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.



  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of experience required.
  • Experience supporting a CRM (Salesforce) application desired but not required.
  • Experience working on project implementation initiatives.
  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing technology solutions.
