Production Associate

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

  • Comply with all state and federal laws regarding the manufacture and/or packaging of pharmaceutical products.
  • Maintain appropriate training on appropriate manufacturing and/or package equipment and the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Interact appropriately with visitors and students as directed by management.

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Properly operate manufacturing and/or packaging equipment.
  • Understand and record documentation to successfully complete manufacturing and/or packaging batch record.
  • Maintain housekeeping within the manufacturing area and all other designated areas as defined by management.
  • Maintain proper use of personal protection equipment when handling active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).
  • Maintain accurate inventory supply.
  • Write purchase orders for supplies as needed.
  • Assist in researching costs and following up on expenses and budget items.
  • Properly follow all relevant safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrate adequate mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with management, visitors, students, and University officials.
  • Medically able to operate a forklift.
  • Good judgment, diplomacy, and ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion on various matters and customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma/equivalency required.
  • Trade school diploma or associate degree in applicable mechanical field preferred.
  • One year of production experience.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and terminology preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Favorable security (DEA/FBI/criminal) check and a negative result on a controlled substance test.
  • Ability to pass respirator test.
  • Must be able to lift 50-80 pounds.
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
