Operations Analyst, Finance and Human Resources

Essential Functions

  • Support Finance function, including performing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and collections activities with direction from the Director of Finance and Operations.
  • Support Human Resources function.
  • Perform Recruiting function for Purdue GMP, including preparing position postings for websites and external sources, entering resumes into a database, acting as a liaison with candidates, and participating on interview teams, as needed.
  • Perform administrative activities, including data entry, as directed.

Additional Responsibilities

Finance (Accounts Payable)

  • Verify invoices for goods and services.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices in the accounting system and scan appropriate backup documentation.
  • Prepare vendor checks for mailing.
  • Review departmental budget expenses monthly and re-class entries as needed via JE.

Finance (Accounts Receivable)

  • Receive, code and process daily cash receipts.
  • Enter and apply receipts in accounting system.
  • Process any general Accounts Receivable invoicing.
  • Scan and attach appropriate backup documentation in accounting system.
  • Prepare and deliver cash bank deposits as needed.
  • Receive and create AR entries in accounting system.
  • Maintain Outstanding AR spreadsheet and conduct collection activities as needed.
  • Reconcile AR sub-ledger to GL monthly.
  • Data entry.

Human Resources (General)

  • Create and maintain policies and procedures.  Update annually.
  • Assist management with employee relations issues.  Elevate as necessary.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions.
  • Plan and administer annual performance review process.
  • Perform equity and market analysis for compensation purposes.
  • Maintain OSHA records and annual report filing.  Ensure employee posters are up-to-date.
  • Assist in annual benefits selection and open enrollment process.
  • Maintain and set up new employee files.
  • Coordinate training (diversity/workplace violence prevention/sexual harassment prevention/safety).


  • Respond to applicant inquiries.
  • Schedule telephone and on-site interviews.  Prepare interview guides.  Prepare interview packets.
  • Participate in candidate interview process and lead interview teams as needed.
  • Create job postings for posting internally, externally and on website.
  • Close files at the end of each search.
  • Prepare rejection letters.
  • Create mailing labels from database.  Close interview file.
  • Collect interview guides from team at the close of the interview process.
  • Provide onboarding for new employees.
    • Extend employment offers.
    • Initiate background checks and controlled substance testing.
    • Create and distribute new employee orientation schedules.  Conduct new employee orientations.
    • Compile, distribute, and complete new employee paperwork.
  • Ensure I-9 and eVerify completion.
  • Interface with recruiters and temp agencies as needed.

  • Update staff professional development records as needed.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.



  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to keep information confidential required.
  • Must have the ability to stay organized, take the initiative to solve problems and handle multiple and varied tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Business degree preferred.
  • HR experience preferred.
  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience.
