Digital Content Specialist

Position Summary:

The Digital Content Specialist will serve as the voice across social media accounts, website content, email communication, member reviews and other digital materials. This position will work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist to ensure content aligns with overall digital strategy, Purdue Federal Credit Union’s brand standards and is optimized for search engines and lead generation. They will be responsible for creating and publishing social media content to grow all accounts. The Digital Content Specialist will also oversee all website content to ensure quality, accuracy and relevance.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Oversees social media efforts by managing, planning, creating, scheduling, organizing, editing and publishing social media content for company pages including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Manage and respond to social media page comments, mentions and reviews as well as other ratings and reviews to maintain a positive brand image.
  • Write digital content for emails, landing pages, website, video scripts and other digital materials.
  • Deliver a consistent brand voice across digital channels including social, web and email.
  • Keep up with online content trends and best practices and incorporate them into overall digital strategy.
  • Provide recommendations on innovative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories, interact and build community and drive engagement and traffic.
  • Performs regular reviews of web content to ensure accuracy, timeliness and relevance.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing or preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and publishing content on digital and social platforms
  • Must have superb copywriting skills as well as excellent verbal and visual communication skills
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media marketing principles for SEO, promoting and selling products/services, online engagement, and acquisition
  • Proficient in social media management tools, email marketing software and website content management systems.
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Self-starter; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
  • Ability to follow the core values of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, pride and ownership

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
  • This position requires sitting, bending, stooping or standing as necessary
