Senior Application Administrator

Essential Functions

  • Support and drive organizational technical direction.
  • Perform advanced application support tasks.
  • Set objectives and work independently on difficult and complex technical projects or assignments under minimal supervision.
  • Work between end users and vendor to maintain and support information technology systems. 
  • Implement changes in systems and process to solve problems or improve effectiveness of area.
  • Coach and review work of lower level administrators and support personnel as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work within technical processes to document requirements and implement change.
  • Communicate effectively with parties within both the organization and externally regarding policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Provide training to staff on the use of University Development supported applications.
  • Create and maintain documentation for University Development supported applications and/or departmental procedures.
  • Acquire, evaluate, audit, record, and report data, utilizing automated processing when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in development organization end-user requirements and system capabilities.
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to use tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion.
  • Motivated, adaptable team player with the ability to work well with others in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad level of fundamental concepts required.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM preferred.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience at Purdue University or development experience preferred.
