Essential Functions

  • Research, collect and organize information for use in news releases, news tips, media advisories, agendas and related materials. 
  • Assist with production of news releases and associated materials; coordinate media-related photo and video requirements.
  • Assist with production of video stories; writing and editing scripts, attending site visits, interviewing subjects and other duties.
  • Respond to communications and marketing-related inquiries.
  • Assist with social media initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Generate media reports and support databases; post selected news releases to Business Wire.
  • Assist with production of marketing materials and eNewsletter.
  • Assist with organization and execution of media workshops.
  • Assist with researching and writing company profiles.
  • Attend events and facilitate information with media.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to departmental interns.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Asst. Vice President of Marketing and Communications.



  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal/written/interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Ability to engender and maintain relationships with PRP, PRF/PU staff and faculty in addition to a variety of communication, media and marketing representatives.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.
  • Occasional travel may be required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field required.
  • Three years of experience writing/editing in a print media environmen
