Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Essential Function

  • Lead PRF’s internal marketing and communications agency responsible for identifying key audiences (internal and external), creating & executing campaigns to engage these audiences, and achieve measurable outcomes for each campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee team members responsible for digital audiences, press relations & crisis communications, experience design (includes events management and community activation), multi-media creation, and data analytics.
  • Create, design, and implement an integrated marketing and communication plans (external and internal) that drive PRF’s strategic plan, brand strategy, mission, and unifying narrative. 
  • Represent PRF as the primary marketing and communications liaison for external strategic entities, generate news coverage and opinion columns, and coordinate special events.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify business unit needs then determine priority of those needs.
  • Serve as the primary branding and reputation liaison with Purdue University.
  • Prepare and maintain budget for Marketing and Communications Department and PRF advertising.
  • Assemble and develop the team of staff, contractors, and external agencies to achieve the team’s goals.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the VP and Chief Entrepreneurial Officer.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational, planning, creative thinking, ‎and marketing material design.
  • Strategic thinking skills essential, accompanied with an understanding of the fundraising profession.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work to meet deadlines, ‎and produce high quality work with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, diplomacy, ‎persuasive ability, public relations, and the ability to drive ‎positive results within and across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to work productively under the pressure of tight deadlines.‎
  • Personal computer and related ‎software skills necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum five years of marketing experience in a professional environment.
