Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support to Operations Manager, assisting with day-to-day operations, projects, reporting, monthly invoices, and special events for the Foundry.
  • Provide communications support to Purdue Foundry staff and serve as the Foundry’s receptionist and resource.
  • Professionally and courteously greet all Foundry guests, exhibiting excellent customer service.
  • Respond to questions and inquiries from both internal and external constituents, directing inquiries and information to appropriate staff.


  • Ensure outstanding customer service to all clients and internal constituents, building relationships and obtaining information that could prove helpful for the Foundry team.
  • Make all logistical arrangements for the Foundry team, coordinating multiple constituents and schedules.
  • Assist Operations Manager in developing agendas and presentation materials.
  • Assist Operation Manager in hosting guests and clients for meetings and workshops.
  • Assist Operation Manager with event planning and promotion for all Purdue Foundry events, including but not limited to stakeholder visits, pitch events, client showcase events, FoundryX events, DDX events and other events as needed.
  • Participate as team member in building relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, mentors, alumni, faculty and students.
  • Work with Operations Manager for all budgeting and expense reporting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all materials in the office.
  • Track, order office supplies and keep inventory of stock.
  • Provide general office support as needed, including phone, fax, and e-mail communication.
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Perform diary management and maintenance of meeting rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, strong customer service focus, diplomacy and courtesy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette, proofreading, drafting, editing and disseminating correspondence and reports.
  • Experience in electronic calendaring, planning meetings and coordinating schedules required.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines with minimum guidance.
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work both independently and contribute in a team environment.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position.


  • HS/GED degree required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of office management and computing skills.
