Job Description - Front End Web Designers and Engineers, Full Time

We are seeking high energy, creative Front End Web Designers and Engineers to join our team of economists, data analysts, and software engineers at Ag-Analytics (analytics.ag) to develop cutting edge analytics and predictive analytics in digital agriculture. In light of COVID-19, we are hiring for 100% Remote Work. This position may or may not transition to a hybrid or office position, or remain remote in the future. 

We will also consider internships for recent graduates.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading commercial software development efforts. Primary activities will involve development and maintenance of our web apps, including coordinating UX & design, testing and deploying web solutions in collaboration with our data scientists and researchers. Building on our existing platform, you will design and build out web based tools, creating easy-to-use interfaces for user-driven data analysis and visualization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar; more than 1 years’ experience or equivalent. Masters in computer science preferred.
  • Extensive experience in building commercial applications and web development, design, and/or programming in .NET/C#, HTML/CSS, MVC, React, JavaScript, Leaflet and other web mapping preferred. GitHub a must. Experience with GIS a big plus.
  • Mobile app design and/or development experience
  • Ability to design, code, test, debug, and develop tools and documentation, and maintain complex programs, systems and web applications. Ability to formulate, define system scope and objectives to develop or modify complex software systems.
  • Ability to organize project teams and direct project activities and document phases of projects, and working with contractors. Plan and coordinate deployments.
  • Familiarity with analytical modeling approaches and related software a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and project management skills, and ability to work as part of a diverse team and independently, while contributing to a high-quality and respectful work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and end-users.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Ability to help establish realistic goals and deliver work on schedule.
  • Previous experience in agricultural or environmental applications is not required but preferred. Familiarity with insurance, finance, and risk management applications a plus.
  • Self-starter with ability to work creatively to solve problems and identify opportunities as they arise.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • A willingness and ability to learn new modeling and programming skills in a multi-disciplinary setting is a must.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques (e.g., artificial neural networks, etc.) in real-world applications and knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, spatial statistics) and experience with applications are a big plus.
