Duties / Responsibilities

The Office of Strategic Events in the Dauch Alumni Center is seeking a student employee for the 2014 fall semester.

Event Prep Work:

  • Prepare nametags
  • Pack event suitcases
  • Load/unload equipment
  • Assist with set up on-site if needed
  • Monitor phones for event registrations when needed

Regular Office Duties

  • Distribute mail to events team members
  • Take monthly event supplies inventory
  • Keep supply area organized
  • Make deliveries on campus

Occasional responsibilities:

  • MS Excel report updates or revisions
  • Other duties are on an “as assigned basis”

Requirements / Qualifications

Preferred Education:

  • Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) students

Preferred Skills:

  • Works well under pressure
  • Meets deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office 

Other

  • This position is located on the Purdue University campus. 
  • Begin Date: August 25, 2014
  • End Date: December 12, 2014 (employee may or may not be asked to work the Spring semester)
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $7.25/hour
