Duties / Responsibilities

The Senior Scientist – Large Molecule (Method Development) develops, documents, and validates ligand binding assay methods. Participates in innovative R&D discovery and pursues potential patents.

  • Create, maintain, evaluate, and improve standardized tools for method development.
  • Develop and maintain records to comply with appropriate regulatory requirements.
  • May assume the following roles related to immunoassay and ligand-binding assay studies: project manager, technical support, method development, and R&D discovery.
  • Review and maintain data associated with the study.
  • Suggest, design, and execute experiments to determine cause-and-effect in both instrument operation and method performance.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a specifically related science and direct work experience, M.S. with 2-4 years of direct work experience, or a B.S. with 8-10 years of direct work experience, preferably in the development and/or application of ligand-binding assays. Equivalent combination of related education and required work experience will be considered.
  • Basic understanding of factors affecting the precision, accuracy, and reliability of ligand-binding assays, including the mathematical treatment of data from such methods.
  • Detailed technical understanding of bioanalytical chemistry operations, including sample analysis strategies, instrumentation, and general laboratory operations.
  • Understand GMP/GLP regulations, with the ability to apply these practices daily.
